Johnsen won a contract to write 3 direct mails for the graphic industry's high-profile "Print as a Medium" campaign.


The three mail shots were spread over 2013. We wanted the first one to demonstrate how print can be brought to life with "Augmented Reality". The principle message was that the new technology brings together printed and digital media, and can be used to bring a whole new dimension to letters, brochures, posters, adverts and packaging.


The mail shot itself consisted of an envelope, a short letter and an eight page brochure with examples of how to use Augmented Reality in practice. To try out the technology, all the recipient had to do was scan the QR code and download an app for each of the examples shown.
