FSC

Johnsen Graphic Solutions is FSC® certified - a natural part of our work to protect the environment. Johnsen achieved FSC certification in 2010. That means that we can offer our customers FSC-labelled printed materials. FSC certification was a natural element of Johnsen's ongoing environmental protection work, which is reviewed in our annual environment report (in accordance with our EMAS certification). FSC is an international non-profit labelling scheme for wood and paper. FSC neither produces nor sells goods. The FSC label is simply a guarantee that wood and paper bearing the label can be bought with a clear conscience. No more trees are felled in an FSC forest than the forest can reproduce itself. It is also a guarantee that flora and fauna are protected, and that the people working in the forest are provided with training, safety equipment and realistic pay.

REACH

Reach – an ambitious EU project

We use chemical products in production which have the lowest possible impact on the environment and working environment. REACH is a chemical reform devised by the EU. It came into force on 1 June 2007 and will be implemented in phases over 15 years. The objective is to ensure a high level of protection for humans and the environment. Johnsen Graphic Solutions works actively with REACH, including living up to the requirements for the replacement of chemical products, and we follow product development closely in consultation with our advisers and suppliers. What that means in practice is that we use the chemical products which have the lowest possible impact on the environment and working environment in our production. The Graphic Association of Denmark (GA) plays an active role for the REACH project within the graphics industry. GA has set up the website miljønet.org, where relevant information and advice are provided.
